Africa: a glance from the West.

If you haven’t already been to see the exhibition, “Africa: a glance from the West”, then perhaps you should make a note in your diary as this Sunday, the 9^th of November sees the end of the exhibition.  This exhibition forms part of a series on Africa and is taking place in the Archaeological Museum of Catalonia (MAC).  It comes highly recommended as it provides a kaleidoscopic view of the African continent from various perspectives. 

 

This exhibition is offered from the point of view of certain Europeans who are involved either personally or professionally in Africa, such as history teachers, photographers etc.  It is well worth a visit as it has recently received very positive reviews.

 

Additionally, under this series on Africa, there will also be another one taking place in the Ethnological Museum of Barcelona (MEC).  Here you can enjoy “Travel to the other shore”.  This exhibition consists of pieces from everyday life, which have been specifically included for this exhibition.  The second part consists of a more “academic” vision, with explanations regarding the evolution of their history.  This exhibition runs until the 30^th of April 2009.

Si todavía no ha visto la exposición de “África: la mirada del Occidente”, quizás deba tomar nota en su agenda porque se va a acabar este Domingo, el 9 de noviembre.  Esta exposición forma parte de la serie sobre África y tiene lugar en el MAC (el Museo de Arqueología  de Cataluña).  Se recomienda mucho porque ofrece una vista caleidoscópica del continente africano desde varias perspectivas.

 

Esta exposición está enfocada desde el punto de vista de europeos que están involucrados personalmente o profesionalmente en África, como profesores de historia, fotógrafos etc.  Vale la pena visitar la exposición porque últimamente ha recibido muchas reseñas positivas en la prensa. 

 

Además, bajo de esta serie sobre África, también habrá otra exposición en el MEC (Museo Etnológico de Barcelona).  Aquí se puede disfrutar de “El viaje a la otra orilla”.  Esta exposición consiste en piezas de la vida cotidiana, que se han traído específicamente para la exposición.  La segunda parte consta de una visión un poco más “académica”, con explicaciones acerca de la evolución de su historia.  Esta exposición se celebrará hasta el 30 de abril 2009.
